In Person vs Virtual
Unlike other complimentary treatment modalities, Reiki can be done either in person or
virtually via a video meeting! I can even "program" a treatment for a specific day and time - you don't even need to be present at all!
Below I will explain the differences which are, ultimately, determined by your
geographic location, comfort level, and what feels right.
Virtual Reiki is absolutely as effective as in person.
It really just comes down to personal choice.


In Person*
When you book an in person treatment, you will walk into a space that is filled with
interesting art, great energy, and two inquisitive, well-behaved white-capped
pionus parrots, named Olive and Chloe.
We will sit face to face, while you tell me why you're interested in having a Reiki treatment. You'll ask me questions, I'll ask you questions, and then I'll explain fully what I will be doing during the treatment. And then when I feel all needs or concerns are addressed, you'll get onto a comfortable massage table fully clothed and I will put a soothing lavender eye pillow to block out the light, put on some relaxing music, and cover you if you are chilly.
Once I'm certain you're comfortable, I'll begin the treatment.
When the treatment is finished, I'll rouse you from a very deep relaxed state and offer you a glass of water. I'll then help you off the table and we can have a conversation about that you felt and what I observed during the treatment and I'll answer any additional questions you may have.

Virtual
Done over a video meeting, such as FaceTime or, most likely, Google Meet, (sorry, no
Zoom just yet) the virtual treatment begins with the same conversation we would have
if we were together in person.
I add an extra step in the virtual session because sometimes people literally just have gotten up from their work computer or have just broken up a fight between the kids, or hustling to finish last minute chores or meals before the session and need some time to decompress and get grounded, and simply walking from one room to another just doesn't accomplish that.
So, I will guide you in several rounds of grounding breaths to get you
ready for your "you" time!
Then, you will get comfortable any way you wish, although I do recommend lying down with an eye pillow or sleep mask to block out the light.
You can play your own music if you wish, as I'm going to mute myself to
minimize distractions.
Then I will do the treatment and gently rouse you once I am finished.
We will have the same kind of discussion as we would if you were in the treatment space.
I'll ask you to drink some water, and then, end the session.
The appeal with virtual treatments is that you don't have to travel and can receive this wonderful treatment in the comfort of your own home. Also, if you don't live in the
New York City metro area, and/or an individual identifying as male,
you can still experience the magical benefits of Reiki!
Please note, if you are intending to book a virtual session, the time indicated is
East Coast Time.

How often should you get a treatment?
As with any type of treatment, the closer treatments are together, the faster the problem will resolve. If you are just coming to destress once or twice a month, that's fine, however if you have an issue that is chronic, it tends to take a bit longer to treat; issues that are newer, less so. Some common issues that Reiki can bring relief to are...
anxiety, pain, and low vitality/fatigue.**
Because I know the price of treatments adds up quickly, I offer
discounted packages for multiple sessions.
Once a treatment begins to prove effective, appointments can taper down to monthly or bi-monthly maintenance. Once the issue disappears, you're done!
